Guardian Life Wins Best Overall Governance Award for a Private Company
NEW YORK, NY, December 3, 2019 – The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian Life), one of the nation’s largest mutual life insurers and a leading provider of employee benefits, has been recognized with the “Best Overall Governance for a Private Company” award at the Corporate Secretary’s Corporate Governance Awards.
The award underscores the maturity and sophistication of Guardian’s governance practices. Areas of consideration included board structure and composition, regulatory disclosure, adoption of best practices for subsidiary management and other areas of the Company’s governance operations.

Companies across the world and from all industries were invited to submit nominations for various categories, including “Best Compliance and Ethics Program” (for large- cap and small- to mid-cap companies), “Best Proxy Statement” and “Best Use of Technology,” to name a few. An independent panel of judges reviewed all nominations and ultimately selected one winner per category, which were announced on November 21.
