Guardian Launches Wealth Steps® Financial Education Platform
New York, August 24, 2018 – Anxiety over personal finances is the leading cause of emotional stress. The restlessness and uncertainty that comes with managing finances can contribute to decreased physical wellness, as well as lower productivity, higher absenteeism, and even increased turnover in the workplace. To combat these effects and provide a roadmap to financial well-being, The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian), one of the nation’s largest mutual life insurers, has launched Wealth Steps®. The program is a learning experience that offers both interactive and personalized guidance to instill financial confidence in employees and members at businesses and associations.
Wealth Steps provides organizations the opportunity to offer in-person workshops, a tailored website with learning content and access to one-on-one financial coaching. By attending workshops and utilizing interactive tools, videos, articles, and other valuable resources, participants learn how to manage their income, savings, available cash, insurance gaps, and debt to improve their financial future.
“Wealth Steps can help alleviate the financial anxieties people experience all too often,” says Leyla Lesina, Senior Vice President and Head of Agency Distribution. “The program can help participants improve their financial outlook by developing a long-term strategy with clear, attainable goals. This step-by-step approach guides participants toward a financial future with clarity, confidence, and financial balance.”
Guardian’s financial representatives will work with businesses and associations to introduce participants to personal finance concepts from a unique balance sheet perspective. According to Guardian's Millennials and Money: Understanding What Drives Financial Confidence study, 41% of millennials who created a financial plan with a financial professional feel very comfortable that they are on track toward their financial objectives vs. 22% of millennials who feel they are on track toward their financial goals and did not create a plan with a financial professional. Participating in Wealth Steps’ structured learning program is geared to get people on the right financial track, and ultimately feel more confident in their financial future.
